Anhua Dark Tea is named after its origin, Anhua in Hunan Province, and belongs to one of China's six major tea categories—dark tea.

Anhua Dark Tea is a Chinese Geographical Indication (GI) protected product.

The production techniques of Anhua Dark Tea (Qianliang Tea processing technique, Fuzhuan Tea processing technique) were inscribed in November 2022 on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Anhua Dark Tea is made from medium to large-leaf tea varieties grown in the Xuefeng Mountain tea region of Hunan and processed using traditional and unique techniques, including initial processing (fixation, rolling, heaping fermentation, and pinewood fire drying) and refined processing (natural aging and artificial post-fermentation). This results in dark tea with distinctive quality and flavor.

Simao Puerh Tea is primarily produced in Simao District, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. It is made from sun-dried large-leaf tea within the GI protection area and processed using specific techniques within this region, giving it unique quality characteristics.
